Research: 

My research involves using mathematical models to guide public health measures at different stages of infectious disease outbreaks. Towards the end of an outbreak, when cases have not been observed recently, I am interested in quantifying the chance that the outbreak is over rather than persisting in individuals that are not reporting disease. I worked with Oliver Morgan at the World Health Organization to address this in the context of Ebola virus disease outbreaks. We assessed the criterion for declaring Ebola outbreaks over (which states that an outbreak is over if no cases have been reported for 42 days).
